Scar/Stretchmark Revision & Camouflage Pre and Post Treatment Instructions

 

Pretreatment instructions:

-Make sure you shave the area you intend to have treated prior to arrival, if necessary. A $50.00 shaving fee may apply if we need to shave the area at the time of the treatment.

-Immediately prior to arrival, shower and clean the area you intend to have treated with antibacterial soap. Please be aware that not all bath wash products are antibacterial.

-Attire: Wear loose clothing to your appointment, it is important that your clothing does not aggressively rub the treated area.

-Stop taking anti-inflammatory and/or blood thinners such as Advil, Motrin, Aspirin, or Turmeric one week prior to your visit.

 

 

Post Treatment instructions (Camouflaging)

The day of, immediately after treatment:

-Continue to NOT take any anti-inflammatory and/or blood thinners such as Advil, Motrin, Aspirin, or Turmeric for at least three days after your treatment.

-Do NOT shower, swim, or bathe the day of treatment after being treated.

-If you’re experiencing extensive dryness in the treated area, apply Aquaphor to the treated area, as needed.

-Do NOT pick at newly forming scabs.

 

The next day and the days thereafter:

-Begin washing the area, GENTLY, as the skin in the treated area is going to be sensitive.

-Cleanse the area with antibacterial soap & cool water twice a day. When drying pat the area with a towel, do not rub or agitate the treated area. (Please note that not all soaps are antibacterial, it is best to use an antibacterial like “Dial”.)

-Do not swim or take a bath, AVOID having the treated area submerged in water for seven (7) days.

-Do NOT enter in or use saunas for seven (7) days after treatment.

-Avoid heavy exercise for seven (7) days as excessive sweating can pull the pigment out.

-Apply a thin layer of Aquaphor at least two (2) to three (3) times daily.

-Do NOT use Neosporin or Bacitracin for two (2) weeks after treatment, antibiotic creams will draw the pigment out.

-Change your clothes daily, this is to eliminate bacteria exposure to the area the area.

-Do NOT pick at newly forming scabs. Doing so will pull the pigment out and compromise the effectiveness of the treatment.

-During the healing process you may experience intense itching, if so apply Aquaphor to reduce itching.

-Keep the treated area out of the sun for a period of at least thirty (30) days or more, if possible. It is imperative that the treated area is not exposed to direct sunlight, tanning beds, spray tan, tanning lotion or any products that increase melanin in the skin.

-If you’re experiencing intense bruising of the area apply Arnica creams to soothe the pain and reduce bruising/swelling.

 

 

Post Treatment instructions (Inkless Scar Revision)

​

The day of, immediately after treatment:

-Do NOT shower, swim, or bathe the day of treatment after being treated.

-Cleanse the area with antibacterial soap & cool water twice a day. When drying pat the area with a towel, do not rub or agitate the treated area.

-Apply the healing oil provided, when applying gentle massage into the treated area.

-Avoid heavy exercise or excessive sweating for seven (7) days.

-Do NOT pick at newly forming scabs.

 

The next day and the days thereafter:

-Continue to cleanse the area with antibacterial soap & cool water twice a day. When drying pat the area with a towel, do not rub or agitate the treated area.

-Continue to avoid heavy exercise or excessive sweating for seven (7) days.

-Continue to avoid swimming or bathing for seven (7) days.

-Apply healing oil every morning.

-Do NOT pick at newly forming scabs.

-Change your clothes daily, this is to eliminate bacteria exposure to the area the area.

-Apply the antimicrobial mist provided liberally, three times a day.

 

Seven (7) days after treatment:

-Continue applying healing oil every morning.

-Apply the provided treatment cream every night.

-Continue to avoid picking at the newly forming scabs, the procedure is in its healing process.

-If you’re experiencing extensive itching, apply more healing oil as it will soothe the skin of the treated area.

-Keep the treated area out of the sun for a period of at least thirty (30) days or more, if possible. It is imperative that the treated area is not exposed to direct sunlight, tanning beds, spray tan, tanning lotion or any products that increase melanin in the skin.
